Many congratulations to Sarah Fitton, who has successfully passed her PhD viva.  Sarah’s research is on the increasingly critical issue of the social value of flood alleviation schemes, and her work has already been picked up by the European Commission for republication in their newsletter ‘Science for Environment Policy’ - see http://ec.europa.eu/environment/integration/research/newsalert/subscribe.htm.  Sarah was sponsored by Arup through an EPSRC i-Case award and supervised by Professor Peter Guthrie at the Centre for Sustainable Development and Dr Alice Moncaster at the IDBE.
